Thanksgiving is upon us and I wanted to take a minute to be grateful and to give thanks…
First, I am grateful that there is a higher power, a God, who knows me so well and loves me anyways. None of us are by any means perfect, yes we all have a great attributes and we have our not so lovely attributes but he forgives us and loves us anyways. The love God provides me with daily is incredible and without that love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, I am nothing. I am so thankful that God shows me his undying love daily
Second, I am so blessed that we live in a country where we have taken immediate action towards all of the terrorism going on in the world. It helps to lay my head down at night and know that America is not going down without a fight. There is so much bad going on in the world (including America) that living can be nerve-wracking at times. Especially for those of us who work with the public and have to trust in our hearts that everyone is kind and good.
Third, I am so thankful for my dogs! I know that sounds insane, I don’t care. As I am typing to all of you today I have 3 of them surrounding me. Baby and Tink are walking ALL over the business stuff and Harley is walking around pouting because the other two won’t play with her and I won’t let her help me stuff Hostess Packets and wrap presents for Christmas!! Haha, its a funny sight really. But they love me unconditionally. I could scold them, put them in their kennels, shut them out of my room, ect. and they love me anyways. I have had a tough weekend. I only had one wisdom tooth (Yep, bragged about that for a while) but it had to come out. Well, I have been down for the count this weekend and in turn these three have snuggled with me on the couch, slept with me (on the couch), and has kept me company ALL weekend long! I am so thankful for their sweet and slobbery kisses and their never-ending love for me.
Fourth, I am thankful for my family. My parents have taught me how to be independent and have taught me to never count on anyone else but myself. That is a true blessing in itself. If I was not raised to be independent I don’t know if I would be 23 running my own business, almost finished with college, with the world at my fingertips. They have taught me so much. I am also thankful for Keenan, I loop him into family because by this point, regardless of what anyone else says or thinks, we ARE family! We are in our third year and we celebrate the third year on May 5th. These past two and a half years have not been easy by any means. We are constantly driving each other absolutely crazy. We agree on a lot and there are a lot of things that we do not see eye to eye on at all. But, in the end we make the best team and we bring out the best in each other. I am so grateful for my Kerby family. I felt like when I was talking about my parents my Kerby parents definitely looped into what I was saying but I didn’t want any of my readers to be confused about that fact! They have welcomed me with open arms and love me like I’m their own. If you don’t have future in-laws like that folks, find a new set! HA!
Fifth, I am thankful for my business. Mary Kay Cosmetics has given me the freedom to work on my time. It has given me the flexibility to make the kind of money I need to make and has given me dreams that I can work towards and continue to work towards over a lifetime. My business gives me support and stability that I don’t know I will ever receive through my teaching career. Mary Kay has opened my eyes to a world of possibilities that I never knew existed. I am also thankful for the people I have met thru my business from new friends to family that I am getting to know now that I am older. Who knew makeup could bring people closer?! I didn’t but I am so glad that it did!
Sixth, I am thankful for my education. I am blessed to live in a country, state, city that encouraged me to fulfill my dreams and to go to college. I know I was placed on this Earth by God to be a teacher. It has taken me 5 1/2 years to obtain my degree BUT I am finally at the end of the rope. I have a semester left in school and it will be the most rigorous semester I have ever endured but I am ready to face the challenge and to come out smiling on the other side with a degree in tow.
Seventh, I am thankful for my friends. I have a lot of old friends and some new friends. I do not always have all of the time in the world to spend with the people I love and care about but you are all so forgiving and I appreciate that so much. You know I am busy and I do what I can do with what I have to do it with. Thank you, for always forgiving me.
I know this post was way longer than what my posts typically are. However, the reason for this season is being thankful for the people and opportunities we have in our lives and I wanted to give you just a few of the many things I am thankful for.
So, what are you thankful for?
And… my next post will be on BLACK FRIDAY and the HUGE shopping weekend… I’m going to give you a list of things to NOT FORGET while you are out and about and
